A PAIR OF 80-BORE PERCUSSION ROUND-BODIED MUFF-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1840, with round 1 3/8in. turn-off barrels (frozen), the tops engraved 'H ALLPORT, CORK', engraved bands at muzzles, scroll engraved rounded boxlock central hammer actions with automatic concealed triggers (one frame cracked at trigger-pin), dolphin headed hammers (traces of blue), finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butts and silver diamond-shaped escutcheons to wrists engraved with a crest of a fish 'naiant' above a wreath and the monogram G.C.
